Hon. Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature Dr. Desbo Mohono joined mourners, political leaders, family members, friends, and members of the community at the funeral service of former North West Premier, Hon. Kaobitsa “Bushy” Maape, held in Vryburg in the North West Province.
The solemn service brought together leaders from across government and society to pay their final respects to a distinguished public servant and seasoned political leader who dedicated his life to the people of the North West and South Africa at large.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were former President Kgalema Motlanthe and Deputy President Paul Mashatile, alongside ministers, premiers, members of legislatures, councillors, traditional leaders, religious leaders, and representatives of various political formations.

The funeral service was marked by emotional tributes, hymns, and reflections on the life and legacy of Hon. Bushy Maape, remembered for his humility, commitment to community development, and contribution to the liberation struggle and democratic governance.

Dr. Mohono conveys heartfelt condolences to the Maape family on behalf of the North West Provincial Legislature, and describes the late former Premier as a leader who served with dedication, dignity, and a deep passion for improving the lives of ordinary people.
