North West Legislature to Hold Special House Sitting to Elect New Speaker

The Judge President of the Mahikeng High Court, Judge Ronald Deon Hendricks will preside over a Special Legislature House Sitting to elect the new Speaker of the Legislature. This follows the resignation of the former Speaker of the Legislature, Dr. Desbo Mohono, who was appointed as Member of the Executive Council for Education by Premier Lazarus Mokgosi last week.

The House Sitting will take place as follows:

Venue: Legislature Chamber, Mahikeng
