A multi-party delegation of NWPL members of the Public Accounts Committee (Scopa) is currently attending the Southern Africa Development Community Organisation of Public Accounts Committees (SADCOPAC) Conference in Maseru, Lesotho as part of the SA delegation. The 17th Annual conference 21 Annual General Meeting started from the 23 -31 October 2025 in Maseru, Lesotho.

The NWPL delegation is led by Hon. Smuts Matshe, the Chairperson of Scopa at NWPL, who is also leading the entire SA delegation as the Chairperson of the South African Association of Public Accounts Committees (SAAPAC). The NWPL delegation comprises of Hon. Kgalalelo Makgokgowa, Hon. Fanon Moema, Hon. Freddy Sonakile and Hon. Lerato Tsholo.
The member states of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in attendance comprise Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Gambia, Uganda, Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Key agenda items include deliberations on various issues facing public accounts committees in SADC, such as enhancing public financial accountability, strengthening good governance and transparency, addressing illicit financial flows and corruption, and public debt management and fiscal responsibility, collaborations between supreme audit institutions and public accounts, strengthening institutional capacities and legislative reforms for effective public accounts operations, strengthening parliamentary oversight of public expenditure for resilient and equitable systems, amongst others.
The conference will culminate in the nomination of sub-committee members prior to the official closing.
