SPEAKER HON. NTSETSAO VIOLA MOTSUMI, DEPUTY SPEAKER HON.COLLEN MOKONE MAINE AND SECRETARY ADV. NETSHITUMBU HELD SUCCESSFUL ENGAGEMENT WITH NEHAWU

The Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature, Hon. Ntsetsao Viola Motsumi, together with the Deputy Speaker and the Secretary to the Legislature, Adv. Netshitumbu, held an engagement meeting with the National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) today, 06 October 2026.The meeting deliberated on the implementation of Bargaining Council Resolutions regarding salary increases.

The meeting resolved as follows:The Legislature and the Unions have reached an amicable agreement. The Legislature acknowledged a shortfall in terms of finances, however reaffirmed its commitment to implement the resolutions. Parties to finalize and agree on the percentage increase within this month of October, Implementation of backpay to be effected from this week, covering the period April to September 2026,From October 2026 the adjusted salary will be implemented By November 2026, employees will receive their normal salary that has been increased.

The Legislature continues to enjoy good labour relations with NEHAWU. Both the Legislature and NEHAWU expressed happiness with the resolution and agreement reached between the two parties.
