The North West Provincial Legislature (NWPL) Management, together with organised labour, namely the National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) and the Public Servants Association (PSA), has successfully concluded and signed a collective agreement concerning the secondment of union officials.

Furthermore, the Legislature is currently in the process of establishing an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Committee. To support this initiative, two workshops were conducted, during which representatives from both unions received training on OHS matters.

This process culminated in the signing of General Administrative Regulation 6.1A agreement in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, which requires the Accounting Officer to enter into an agreement with organised labour on the implementation of OHS within the NWPL.
