The North West Provincial Legislature commemorated the Easter period through a solemn reflection on the Seven Words of the Cross, a Christian tradition that reflects on the seven last sayings of Jesus Christ during His crucifixion.

The observance served as a spiritual reflection and a reminder of the values of forgiveness, compassion, humility, service, and faith, which are central to the Easter message. Members and staff gathered for the reflection, which highlighted the significance of Easter as a period of renewal, sacrifice, and hope.

The Seven Words of the Cross traditionally include reflections on forgiveness, salvation, compassion, human suffering, fulfilment of scripture, triumph over death, and the surrender of spirit to God.
