The Head of Department, Dr. Ben Bole said part of the achievement s in the municipalities include support with various programs which include sound municipal administration and good governance, anti-corruption measures, functionality of ward committees, revenue enhancement management and municipal public accounts committees monitoring on council oversight and reduction of unauthorised, irregular, wasteful and fruitless expenditure.
Committee Chairperson, Hon. Kgalalelo Makgokgowa said the department must submit a comprehensive report on the impact assessment done on the mentioned programmes. “The department should also submit a progress report on all the interventions in municipalities including how seconded officials are performing, appointment of senior managers, implementation and progress of the post audit action plans, analysis report on the projects to improve audit outcomes.
“The department must also report on the interventions on traditional disputes, investigations on the UIF&W and quarterly progress report on the state of local government and operation clean audit on identified municipalities with unqualified audit outcomes with findings,” said Hon. Makgokgowa.
