On Friday, 08 September 2023, the Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature, Hon. Basetsana S.R Dantjie hosted the Provincial Speakers’ Forum at the Madibeng Local Municipality Chamber where all Speakers from various local and district municipalities in the North West Province met to discuss amongst others Voter Education, voter registration and campaigns presented by Mr Ledimo Nthejane from the Independent Electoral Commission.
Speakers also had the opportunity to receive and discuss presentations from Mr Kagiso Kebotlhale who was assigned by the Department of Home Affairs to form part of the meeting. The department presented on Identity Documents (ID) Campaigns and uncollected Identity Documents. Different Speakers and senior management from all the municipalities including officials from the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) and Home Affairs are expected to attend the meeting.
